Privacy Policy

Branch ("the App," "we," "us") is developed by Method Missing LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information Branch collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Branch does not require an account and is built to collect as little personal information as possible.

Information We Collect

Location

Branch uses your device's location, when you grant permission, only to calculate accurate Shabbat candle-lighting times and other zmanim for your area. Your location is processed on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. If location access isn't granted, Branch defaults to Jerusalem time.

App Preferences

Settings you choose, such as your preferred Hebrew transliteration style, are stored locally on your device using standard device storage. We do not have access to this information.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, such as for Shabbat candle lighting, Branch schedules them locally on your device. We do not operate a push-notification server and do not see the content of your reminders.

Information We Do Not Collect

Branch does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or contact information through the App itself. Branch does not include advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Branch uses Google Firebase for basic app infrastructure. As of this writing, Branch does not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or Cloud Messaging — if that changes in a future update, we will update this policy first. Scripture text and translations used within the App, including sources such as Sefaria, are bundled with the App itself and do not transmit your data anywhere.

Children's Privacy

Branch is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Branch evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
